Celebrate Running Day 2022-06-01

Today is National Running Day, and I didn’t even know that when I scheduled a morning run with my old buddy from university!

Somehow, our wires got crossed though, so we didn’t manage to meet up. I thought our run was for 7 AM, and he thought it was for 9 AM. Oh well, it was a lovely morning, and I enjoyed the neighbourhood run on my own.

Long Ago 5K Run

Most days, I walk now, instead of running. Two or three runs a week are just what my body needs, instead of pounding that pavement every single day.

My running skills were stronger back in 2010, when I participated in my first official 5K run, as part of the Toronto marathon.

Before the race, my running coach (son)  gave me a pep talk, and told me I could do it, no problem! Look how tiny my son was, back then. He’s taller than I am now!

Celebrating at the Finish Line

Thanks to that great pep talk, I finished the race, in a respectable time of 32 minutes.

Here’s a photo of me, shortly after crossing the finish line, celebrating my achievement.

Whatever you accomplish today, take a minute to celebrate!
