Get Some Indoor Gardening Exercise Today

According to the online calendars, today is National Gardening Exercise Day, so that will be something fun to celebrate!

All the Plants

If you live in a small apartment, like I do, you probably don’t have an outdoor garden, where you can pull weeds and get some exercise.

So, indoor gardening exercise will have to do! And if you’re a plant lover, like I am, there’s plenty of indoor gardening work to do.

One of my life goals is to eventually own ALL of the plants. As you can see, my evil plan for world plant domination is well underway!

And don’t worry, my son escaped from that plant’s clutches, a few minutes after I snapped this photo.

Looking After Indoor Plants

It’s a big job to look after so many indoor plants, and I get lots of exercise from watering them, checking for dead leaves, and rearranging them.

Also, I like to bring home new plants, as often as possible. And, you can’t just buy a plant and carry it home.

No, you also need to buy a pot for the plant, and a bag of dirt, and lug them home.

So that’s lots of exercise too, because I always walk to the store, instead of driving.

And sometimes you have to bring home a few plant accessories, like these little lights!

Neighbourhood Walk for Gardening Exercise

How can you celebrate today, if you don’t have an outdoor garden, or a big collection of indoor plants?

You can do what I’ll do this afternoon, after work is finished – go for a neighbourhood walk, and check out gardens.

Maybe your neighbours have been hard at work, weeding their gardens, and you can admire the results. If you see the neighbours, be sure to tell them how lovely their garden is. Everyone loves a sincere garden compliment!

And if none of the neighbours have a garden, maybe there’s a park nearby, with a garden, or some trees, or even a few buttercups growing in the grass.

Celebrate nature’s beauty today, wherever you can find it!
